For Minnie
Aug 25th, 2009 | By Susan Walker | Category: Poetry | 447 viewsI sit and watch you resting as my children play nearby
Once busy hands now quiet, I can’t help but wonder why
You’ve been with me for all time, your voice and face so dear
Is it any wonder that I want to keep you here
But deep within my heart of hearts I do must surely know
No matter how much I love you, it’s time to let you go
To the Father of us all, I know I’ll miss you, still,
Photographs may fade away, but your memory never will

About Susan: I am happily married with 2 children 16 and 19. I am a fairly new poet in that I have just found the courage to share my poetry with a wider audience. When I'm not writing or hanging out with my family, I enjoy yoga and studying Sanchin-Ryu karate where I have earned my 2nd degree black belt. |

Susan I found this piece to be pack with all the memories of a loved one. A loss of something or someone is truly never forgotten and as long as we have the memories well we have a plethora of images and feelings to call to mind.
As you grow poetically you’ll be amazed at the many ways your poetry will take turns. Keep on writing.
