Fear II
Aug 25th, 2009 | By Susan Walker | Category: Poetry | 398 viewsSlowly creeping out from the shadows
Fear nudges me with its’ furry head
With a low growl it nestles within my gut
Closing one eye, ever watchful
I stroke its head absentmindedly
The growl becomes a gentle purr
We are an odd pairing, Fear and I
Once mortal enemies, now uneasy companions
Side by side, we journey on
Each keeping watch over the other

About Susan: I am happily married with 2 children 16 and 19. I am a fairly new poet in that I have just found the courage to share my poetry with a wider audience. When I'm not writing or hanging out with my family, I enjoy yoga and studying Sanchin-Ryu karate where I have earned my 2nd degree black belt. |

Learning to come to peace with all that makes us, us is a good thing. We all have pieces of self lurking in shadows. Enjoyed this. I think if you tightened this up a bit you’d find it will read better than it already does.
Enjoyed this.
