Essence

Sep 29th, 2009 | By MaryEllen Letarte | Category: Poetry | 370 views

Iris
catch sunbeams
on petals.
Roll them
to crimped edges.

Amaryllis
reach for the sun.
Leaves
rustle,
murmur to the sky.

Daffodils
stand together
in yellow beds.
Sway
their bright heads.

Lilies
trumpet
loud colors.
Swoon
in sweet fragrance.
