Dreams
Jun 9th, 2009 | By Missy Bickel | Category: Poetry | 426 viewsEnshrouded in dreams
how delicate the soul.
Devoid of defenses, it’s
not easy to defy those
memories which lurk unprotected.
Gnarled fingers of fear expose
silent screams, dissolving
them into nightmarish screams.
Here one is devoid of reason.
Eyes flutter searching for
the door which will release you
from the darkness.
Once awake,
you never forget
what waits in dreams.

About Missy Bickel: Self taught poet who resides in Oklahoma and who has a thirst for words. A fan of free verse and Haiku's. Structured verse while a mainstay in society has to many rules and regulations for me. Give me a pen and fine paper and I'm at home. People who know me, know I say all the time I bleed ink. Though unlettered in poetry, it is what moves my soul. |
