Kaddish
Aug 10th, 2009 | By Lane Robbins | Category: Poetry | 427 viewshe died suddenly of a heart attack
which is no way for a zen master to go
which is the way for a zen master to go.
they found his cold corpse laying on the side walk
was he thinking of God?
or of his wife and children?
any unrequited sins?
i do not mean to malign this man -
i sincerely respect him.
but you see, not one can escape the past
not you, and certainly not me
a fully enlightened being is not separate
from cause and effect
a fully enlightened being is most intimate
with cause and effect
you can feel it deep down in your gut -
the truth, i mean
but what is that?
high winds now and then
