Xenomorphic

if I so choose, I have free will
to ponder heaven or just be still
control belongs within my hands
except those things called life’s demands
as in time of war, to die or kill

I’ll have my way, at least until
death comes despite state and pill
standing firm on changing sands
if I so choose

prayer and sin, so soft, so shrill
two voices souls by deeds distill
I hear them as I take my stands
love leads to any promised lands
a golden rule one must fulfill
if I so choose

  1. I love this poem. Especially the opening two lines of last stanza, “prayer and sin, so soft, so shrill, two voices souls by deeds distill” is just amazing. Wonderful work.
