Life’s Refrain
Dec 11th, 2009 | By W.B. Burkholder | Category: Poetry | 1249 viewsPleasant valley beaming,
sundrenched memory dreaming,
day falls fast
to moonlit serenade.
Moments in my memory,
from old age back to mammary,
fleeting as the breeze
on a doldrum-laden sea.
Courses set in pre-fated design
from glorious victories
to ill-fated missions mine.
This the tumult of a fleeting life
lessons learned among the joy and strife.
Warrants drawn and receded
opinions like the wind,
The lessons learned of
finding fact
to lessen those that I must rescind.
Time has no clock,
no schedule to pair,
with our thoughts, dreams, and misgivings.
It is but a single chance
to move forward with this living,
the living of life, of joy, and pain.
Each a teacher to
raise up, or humble,
each a contributor to life’s refrain
