War can ruin even the strongest among us,
and you described this wonderfully.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, Manny -- I get a kick out of old Steve, too, even if he does have trouble remembering Arnold's name.

Indeed, being a writer is not an easy path to travel and it can be both a burden and a blessing at times. You've painted the portrait well, with all the necessary shades, tones and hues. As artists, we may not have been given a choice in the matter - but if we were, I would still choose poetry as my medium of expression, my own personal obsession. Well done, Bill.

This is pensive and abundant with soothing imagery, William. Very transcendental, very Zen. As you can see, I took you up on your suggestion, joined the site and submitted a poem. I'll be by again when I get the chance, to peruse your other offerings and explore further. In the meantime, may your ink never run dry and may your nights be as peaceful as described herein - and may your mornings continue to overflow with joyful enlightenment.

I have read all of Martin C. Rosner's poems
whether these are in print or on-line, and
"Kaddish" is very poignant, evocative and
excellent (definitely one of my favourites
by him)! Raven
