The city looms in wheezing death throes. A cloud of steam like a goddess born from the thrashing of flames and torrent of flood. They wait, the water eddying past their knees.
They came from everywhere searching for what everyone…
That lunatic’s out there raving and forcing everyone to migrate because, for some reason, where we live, where we’ve lived all this time, is no longer suitable to humans.
He spent nineteen hours traveling the country.
The ground shook, a deep grumble vibrating over the land.
Closer to downtown, the streetlights spotted his path, one circle of yellow light followed by another.
