As the Story Editor of Troubadour 21, I have had the immense pleasure lately of reading many wonderful short stories and discovering some excellent authors. I have only been the story editor here for a few short weeks, but I have been involved with T21 since it was a mere gleam in our much esteemed executive editor’s eye. Carlton Smith III had the amazing idea of bringing together artists of all kinds, not just in the Detroit metro area, but from places both far and near.
Once I became story editor, I contacted my authors by email, to receive more of their wonderful work…
We want this blog to be fun and exciting and to have our readers interact with us, by not just writing comments, but also by sending us their stories about dating, nightmares or success stories.
Here at T21, we are wondering who are readers are. Please take a few minutes to answer these questions to let us know. Your participation is very much appreciated.
The Sweet Epiphany Cafe, Troubadour 21 and Cinema 3956 Present
For two evenings on the first weekend in October, treat yourself to the finest in local art and poetry at the Sweet Epiphany Cafe (13305 W. Seven Mile Rd, Detroit MI, 48235). Local artists, Adam Klimek and Anthony Callis, along with photographer Courtney McClenehan will be displaying their works for your perusal and purchase as every hour a local poet will take the stage to entertain.
After two months in print (or pixelation as it were) we have had some exciting growth here at Troubadour 21. We have had over 1300 unique visitors to the site and almost 13000 page views. And while this doesn’t yet put us on the map in the larger internet world, we are very encouraged by the start.
We are now up to 26 Troubadours published on the site, giving you a wide array of pieces to read and view. And we are always looking for new contributors. Our poetry section has become our biggest success and we are receiving new submissions lately at an increasing rate, which we are very excited about…
Today we have launched the first version of our Cafe Press store. It is still a work in progress, which we will be expanding and cleaning up in the coming weeks, but for now there are items on there you can purchase and help us spread the word to writers and artists everywhere.

Our submission guidelines have changed! As the site grows, managing it can become a little bit more difficult, so we have updated our guidelines to help us post your work more easily.
Follow the link below to see the guidelines, or click the “Submit Your Work” tab.
Would you like to help us spread the word about Troubadour 21? Feel free to print out our flyer (link below) and leave it at your favorite coffee house, library, or anywhere else you think other interested people may see it. We appreciate your help!
