As the Story Editor of Troubadour 21, I have had the immense pleasure lately of reading many wonderful short stories and discovering some excellent authors. I have only been the story editor here for a few short weeks, but I have been involved with T21 since it was a mere gleam in our much esteemed executive editor’s eye. Carlton Smith III had the amazing idea of bringing together artists of all kinds, not just in the Detroit metro area, but from places both far and near.
Once I became story editor, I contacted my authors by email, to receive more of their wonderful work…
Troubadour 21 is very proud to introduce Christopher Dwyer as our T21 in-house writer. He will be writing two stories a month, exclusively for T21. Christopher is a writer from Boston, Massachusetts, and his stories are beautifully written, filled with vivid images that either touch one’s heart or send chills down one’s spine. He has a special gift of being able to write in a variety of styles, either sensitive, touching love stories from a masculine perspective, or eery noir thriller stories of gore and blood that make one want to lock all doors and bolt all windows.
I attended my second session of “Poetry, Pages, and Scribes” on Thursday, July 1st. To those who have not yet been there, it is a wonderful venue to both share and hear poetry and short stories…

Considering that I grew up in Spain and received an oh so proper British education of classical poetry and literature, it’s a tad amazing that I did not attend an actual poetry session until just last week!! How flabbergasted I was to realize just how much I’d missed…
Until the age of 19, I was immersed in poetry and literature, analyzing and symbolizing it to death. Mr. and Mrs. Long were Oxford and Cambridge scholars, of the old school of Shakespeare and Milton, among countless others. They introduced me to such beautiful writing and began my literary education. They are to this day remembered fondly by all who were lucky enough to attend their school in Mallorca.
Troubadours were medieval lyric poets, minstrels, or singers who traveled throughout Europe from the 11th-13th centuries. They performed for the nobility, sharing their poems and songs based on the themes of chivalry and courtly love.
The purpose of this site is to promote art in all of its many forms: poetry, writing, art, photography, and music. We want to bring together poets to submit their poems, writers their stories, artists their paintings, and photographers their photographs.
